Parent Volunteers

Production Team Parents will receive more detailed info at a mandatory parent meeting at the start of each production!

Calling all parents!  It takes the entire theatre family to produce a show and we are always in need of volunteers!  We need volunteers to provide snacks/meals during tech week, solicit program ads, put up promotional posters around town, take a shift in the box office, manage parent volunteers, fundraise, build/help with set construction, manage the house and ushers, host the cast party, etc. There is a complete list of all needs on your student's sign up sheet. Please let us know how you would like to participate.

In addition:

  • everyone is asked to bring an item for concessions to be sold during the shows (candy bars/water)

  • please remember“Strike.”After the last performance, the entire set, all the props, costumes, etc. are dismantled and put away. This is an“All Hands on Deck” activity…no student is exempt. With such a big job, we ask for any parent who is able to lend a hand. If you have a drill, that’s even better, but any and all assistance is welcome! The more hands we have, the earlier your student will be able to go home after that last show on closing night.

Please contact Robert Scott (rascott@dcsdk12.org) for more information regarding volunteer opportunities.

Thank you, in advance, and please don't hesitate to ask questions!

If you aren't able to volunteer during pre-production, we can use help with snacks for rehearsals as tech week (two weeks before the show opens) approaches:

  • Case of water

  • Large bag of pretzels

  • Healthy/energy snacks

We do ask everyone to donate something for Box Office concession sales the week of the show.

Suggested concession items include:

  • Candy Bars or bags (full size)

  • Case of Water

  • Chips

You can send items in with your student. Tell them to put it in the Green Room (room 625).
